(Louisville, Kentucky) As of February 9, individuals, parishes, schools and other Catholic organizations in the Archdiocese of Louisville have donated $487,016.30 to Catholic Charities for Haiti relief efforts. Catholic Charities is sending all funds to Catholic Relief Services, which is the official international humanitarian agency of the Catholic community in the United States. Catholic Relief Services alleviates suffering and provides assistance to people in need in more than 100 countries without regard to race, religion or nationality. Catholic Relief Services has been serving in Haiti for more than 50 years and has raised more than $38 million for its emergency response from Catholics in the United States.
