Couples Celebrate a Combined Total of 5,558 Years of Marriage
(Louisville, KY) Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D., is celebrating the annual Wedding Anniversary Mass on Sunday, October 11, 2:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption, 443 South Fifth Street.
This event honors couples celebrating their 30th, 40th, 50th or 60th+ wedding anniversaries. One hundred seventeen couples are attending. The anniversary breakdown is:

The two longest-married couples are William and LaVerne Lattis from Holy Name Parish, who have been attending this celebration every year since their 60th anniversary, and John and Norma Wiedmar from St. Gabriel Parish. Those who are being honored include former Congressman Romano Mazzoli and his wife Helen (for 50 years of marriage) and former County Clerk Bremer Ehrler and his wife Elizabeth (for 68 years of marriage).
Media outlets that wish to do interviews must be at the Cathedral at least 20 minutes early; Archbishop Kurtz will be available at 2:00 p.m. for interviews. However, we cannot do interviews after 2:15 p.m. because of preparations for the liturgy.
