| August 2010 | Parish information sessions and workshop for archdiocesan offices/ministries | Parish info sessions provide an overview of the Why Catholic? process, showing how it responds to the need among adults today to connect their Catholic beliefs with a desire for a renewal of their Catholic identity. Pastors will be given an opportunity to sign their parishes up for the program. A special workshop will help members of archdiocesan ministries and office staffs to integrate aspects of Why Catholic? into their areas of specialization and departmental/office goals. | |
| October 11-16, 2010 | Launching Why Catholic? (Por Que ser Catolico?) | Workshop opportunities help pastors and their teams to create a plan tailored to implement Why Catholic? as a total parish experience. Each workshop session will cover parish team roles, tools for maximizing parish participation, invitational strategies and how to execute a successful Why Catholic? night. Also, ways to utilize Why Catholic? with parish sacramental programs and the how-tos of using the program’s Parish Kit will be covered.

| November 15-19, 2010 | Creating a Parish Community Plan: Catholic Evangelization | This learning opportunity helps pastors and their parish teams grow in understanding of Catholic evangelization. It explores the relationship between evangelization and catechesis, and then offers practical, concrete strategies for outreach and invitation — especially to nominal and inactive Catholics.

| February 2011 | Small Community Leader Formation | This formation process will engage participants learning about and practicing a broad range of facilitation skills. Given the theme of Year One of Why Catholic? in our Archdiocese, which is Sacraments: The Celebration of Christian Mystery, this formation experience will likewise discuss the meanings of liturgy and sacraments as doorways to the Sacred. Finally, it includes an overview of the seven sacraments, with an emphasis on the Eucharist. | |
| Lent 2011 | Faith-Sharing — Sacraments: The Celebration of Christian Mystery | Small groups of Why Catholic? participants meet in their various locales for Sessions 1 to 6 of the Sacraments book.

| Fall 2011 | Faith-Sharing — Lifting Up Our Hearts | Parishes will prepare for the new English translation of the Roman Missal withLifting Up Our Hearts, a six-session faith-sharing process. Through prayerful reflection on the changes to the people’s parts of the Mass, this resource leads Catholics into a deeper understanding of the meaning of the Mass and its significance in their lives. Small groups of Why Catholic? participants meet in their various locales for Sessions 1 to 6 of the Lifting Up Our Hearts book. | |
| February 2012 | Retreat Team Workshop | The Retreat Team Training Workshop engages parish staff and lay leaders in the experience of a retreat and formation in organizing and leading retreats on Why Catholic? themes in the parish. A guide for planning retreats, a retreat guide and participant materials for each retreat are provided. All retreats and workshops are available in both English and Spanish.
