Description: Established in France in 1839, the Little Sisters of the Poor is a non-profit, international community of religious Catholic Sisters who, in partnership with their dedicated employees, have built an exceptional record of humble and loving service at St. Joseph’s Home. St. Joseph’s Home is located in a quiet, tree-lined/park-like neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky and offers independent living, assisted living and long-term care options to approximately 75 elderly Residents (35 of whom reside in lightly skilled nursing).

This position would be ideal for a seasoned RN/LPN who feels they operate best (and seem the happiest) when they find themselves in a more intimate LTC setting, a setting which allows them to exercise personal leadership and positive influence by a ‘hands on” and effective role-model. RN’s/LPN’s who have developed a reputation for coaching employees into realizing higher levels of performance would find this position quite rewarding

Qualifications: Ideal candidates will be the RN/LPN’s who are currently licensed to practice in KY and have at least 3 years of experience leading and building effective and collaborative work teams, preferably in a similar LTC work environment.

Well-developed nursing skills are an essential job requirement, paired with solid documentation and follow-through skills.

Professional maturity, coupled with sound judgment and the ability to effectively navigate around ambiguities are essential.

Exceptional interpersonal skills (verbal and written), effective time management and presentation skills are essential requirements of previous experience with MDS, QA, Infection Control, the QIS and staff development are highly-desirable.

The ability to foster collaborative working relationships is also a sought-after attribute as this position will have frequent contact with other leaders, colleagues, physicians, vendors, and those involved in the care of our Residents and Home.

This position will report to the Director of Nursing Services and will work in collaboration with other members of the Resident Care Team. Computer literacy is a requirement for this position.
