Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
We have so much for which to be grateful. We remember the faith, service and sacrifice of priests, religious and laity who have done great things for the Gospel throughout our 200 years as a local Church. Now it is our turn to leave a similar legacy for those who follow us.
Therefore, I am very excited about the opportunities that our Building a Future of Hope Bicentennial Campaign will bring for our parishes and our Archdiocese.
Through prayerful discernment, this campaign will allow us to embrace our baptismal call to be good stewards of the gifts given to us by a loving God. In fact, the first goal of this campaign is to deepen the spiritual life of parishioners and parishes. Additional goals include raising funds for each parish’s needs, funding archdiocesan initiatives as outlined in this brochure, and providing additional tuition assistance for families with children in our Catholic schools.
Rooted in deep faith, summoned by hope, and impelled by charity, we embark on this historic campaign. I invite each of you to join me by taking an active and purposeful role in it. By working together, we can help to insure that the vital ministry of the Church throughout our Archdiocese will serve present and future generations.
May God bless you.
Sincerely yours in our Lord,

The Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D.
Archbishop of Louisville
