Couple, Family and Individual Counseling
Counseling services are provided to individuals, couples and families who are experiencing relational problems. Although the clinic is located at the Maloney Center (1200 South Shelby Street), there are several sites throughout the archdiocese. Fees for counseling services are based on a generous sliding scale made possible by the Catholic Services Appeal. No one is turned away due to a financial situation. Psychological Testing
The psychological testing program serves the Catholic elementary schools (grades K-8). To request psychological testing, parents can call 502-636-1044. Doctoral interns provide psychological/psycho-educational testing services under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist. Fees are based on a sliding scale and range from $25 to $300. Testing begins within 60 days of receipt of payment. A meeting with parents and school personnel to review the results is conducted within 30 days of testing.
ArchResponse
This is a coordinated response to crisis situations that arise in Catholic parishes and schools. A trained team of counselors from Catholic Schools respond to parish and school-wide trauma and grief situations, such as the death of a student or staff member.
FAMILY BUILDERS
The Family Builders Initiative is a school-based, mental health initiative designed to address student needs. This family/school collaboration approach promotes partnerships between parents, teachers and other adult managers to support the academic and social competence of children. Family Builders resources support school counseling services and all safe and drug free school programming in Catholic schools. In these roles, the professional staff of the counseling office provides referrals and consultation services to clergy, principals and other lay ministers of the Archdiocese.
Peacebuilders
This program is an elementary school anti-violence curriculum that provides clear messages and mechanisms to promote a caring and safe school environment. Visit the Peacebuilders web site at www.peacebuilders.com.
Olweus Bullying Prevention
The Olweus [pronounced Ol-VEY-us] Bullying Prevention Program is a comprehensive, school-wide program designed for use in elementary, middle or junior high schools. Its goals are to reduce and prevent bullying problems among school children and to improve peer relations at school. The program has been found to reduce bullying among children, improve the social climate of classrooms, and reduce related antisocial behaviors, such as vandalism and truancy. Creating Lasting Family Connections
This is a middle school alcohol, tobacco and other drug prevention curriculum that teaches students and other participants how to prevent these risk behaviors. Visit the website at http://www.copes.org.
LifeSkills Training

Parent To Parent
This is a like-to-like ministry in which trained parent facilitators lead small groups of parents through a series of eight videos and discussions on effectively parenting the adolescent. More information can be found at http://www.copes.org.
