Young Men and Women of the Archdiocese, I have a question to ask you. Have you ever wondered if you have a calling to Ministry in the Church?
A religious vocation may be for you. Try the following quiz. Consider all the statements that apply to you.
- a personal relationship with God is important to me
- I feel called to give more of myself to others
- The idea of ministry in the church keeps going through my head.
- People have told me to consider being a priest or a nun.
- I want to help people get closer to God.
- Going to mass and receiving Jesus Christ in the Eucharist is very important to me.
- I’ve been reluctant to ask questions that might reveal to family and friends that I am interested in ministry. But I want to ask.
- I can imagine myself as in ministry as a priest, sister, brother, deacon, or lay minister.
- I want to make a difference in my world.
If you answered, “yes” to four or more of these statements, then God may be calling you to the ministry. It isn’t somebody else’s vocation from somewhere else. Church ministry is the vocation that comes from men and women in our families in our parishes in this Archdiocese.
Is a religious vocation for you? Do not be afraid to join with the other men and women in our Archdiocese who are discerning God’s call in their lives.
