HISTORY
In the spring of 1908, Bishop William G. McCloskey established Our Lady of the Hills at Finley. Father John J. Neafsey was the first pastor. When a remodeled house was dedicated, the packed church prompted the bishop to order an addition, which he himself financed. A new church was built with donations of logs, labor and funds. A school run by Dominican sisters was established in 1954, followed by a convent. The school property was sold when the Sisters left in 1964. A large donation went toward a new parish hall (now a religious education center) in 1970.

In 1948 the church was again too small and a new structure was erected. Subsequent renovations of the exterior façade (1986), steeple (1990), stained-glass windows and interior painting (1995) and a new high altar (2005) produced the current church. Since 2004, the parish, now with about 350 parishioners, has been clustered with Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
