Purpose

Our Mission Statement: "The services of the Catholic Cemeteries are a ministry of the Archdiocese of Louisville. We offer the sacred rite of burial to the Catholic community and all of God's people. We commit ourselves to the Gospel and Catholic tradition. We affirm the sacredness of human life and profess the resurrection of the body and life everlasting."

A Catholic cemetery is a prayerful place and is considered an extension of the parish ministries, providing a final resting place for those baptized into the Catholic faith as well as people of other faith traditions.

The Catholic Cemeteries have been providing experienced and caring service to our Catholic community since 1851. The Catholic Cemeteries are responsibly maintained in perpetuity.

Graves and Lots

A grave is a space of ground in the cemetery that is used, or is intended to be used, for the burial of the remains of one person. By purchasing a second right of burial, a full-sized grave can accommodate up to two remains as long as one or both are cremated remains.  more
