Thomas Merton, author, poet, and commentator, was a voice of introspection and reflection during the crisis of the post-World War II and Vietnam, throughout the struggle of civil rights and into the social revolution of the American 1960s. His advice was elicited from global spiritual leaders, civil rights, and peace advocates, poets, and authors. This session would specifically explore Merton’s response of preserving humanity in an era defined and transformed through algorithms of violence and technology. This session will also explore parallels from Merton to find hope in examining and advocating self-reflection in society as a lens of hope in our times of anxiety, violence, and transformation.
The presenter is Dr. Thomas Malewitz, Asst. Professor/Dir. Ed.D: Leadership Program, Spalding University.

Scripture encourages us to constantly learn and grow from the wisdom of the ‘cloud of witnesses’ of our faith. Saints offer us an opportunity to learn from their previous witness how to come to know our true self through the challenges of the world. This session will specifically examine the lives of young saints who modeled Christian sacredness through their life such as: Agatha, Carlos Acutis, Chiara Badano, Dominic Savio, José Sánchez del Río, and Maria Goretti. Activity ideas for the classroom will also be offered.

The Foundations for Marriage program is most helpful to couples early in their engagement. The archdiocesan program includes topics of “The Sacramentality of Marriage”, “Married Love”, “Family of Origin”, “Marriage Of Your Money”, and “Communication and Conflict Management”.
The Foundations for Marriage program is a one-day, 8-hour session held on selected Saturdays throughout the year in various locations around the Archdiocese of Louisville. The day begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at approximately 5:00 p.m. and lunch is provided. Attendance for the entire day is required.
Pre-registration for this program is required and the number of participants for each session is limited. Sessions fill up quickly, so don’t delay! Registration should be done after your initial conversation with your parish priest or deacon regarding his expectations and recommendations for your marriage preparation program.

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry and its African Ministries offer a Swahili Mass (Kiswahili Misa) on the 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:00 p.m., St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church located at 3112 West Broadway, Louisville, KY 40211. Join Fr. Deogratias Ssamba, A.J. for the Mass. All are welcome! Swahili is a Bantu language widely used as a lingua franca (a language that is adopted as a common language between speakers whose native languages are different) in East Africa and having official status in several countries. Archdiocese of Louisville Office of Vocations will host Quo Vadis Day on June 24, 2026, at St. Athanasius Church in Louisville from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Quo Vadis is Latin and it means “Where are you going?”
High school young men are invited to explore what it means to discern a vocation and how to lead a Catholic life. This event, which includes talks, discussion, and prayers, is led by seminarians of the archdiocese.

Join Fr. Expedito Muwonge for the Mass. All are welcome! Kirundi, also known as Rundi, is a Bantu language and the national language of Burundi. It is a dialect spoken in Rwanda and adjacent parts of Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, as well as in Kenya. Kinyarwanda, Rwandan or Rwanda, officially known as Ikinyarwanda, is a Bantu language and the national language of Rwanda. It is a dialect of the Rwanda-Rundi language that is spoken in Burundi and adjacent parts of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and Tanzania.
