Purpose

Purpose: To promote devotion to Mary, the Mother of God, and to coordinate Marian devotions within the Archdiocese.

Catholic Charismatic Renewal Pastoral Council

Purpose: To organize, guide and support the ongoing work of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

Catholic Conference of Kentucky

Purpose: An organization of the four dioceses in the state of Kentucky to present a unified approach on public policy matters that pertain to the overall welfare of the people of God in Kentucky.

Purpose: To serve the temporal needs of the Catholic church in the United States.

Center for Interfaith Relations

Purpose: The mission of the Center for Interfaith Relations is to promote inter-religious understanding and the civic role of Louisville's historic Cathedral of the Assumption complex.

Clergy Health Panel

Purpose: To assist priests in need of help with chemical dependency and other addictions.

Clerical Aid Society

Purpose: To administer health insurance for the clergy of the Archdiocese of Louisville.

College of Consultors

Purpose: 1. To assist the archbishop in certain areas of administration of the archdiocese according to the Code of Canon Law, and 2. To provide for the governance of the archdiocese, according to the norms of law, when the See is vacant or impeded.

Cursillo Movement Office

Purpose: The Cursillo movement is a movement of the church that, by means of its own method, makes it possible for people to live and share their everyday lives with the support of small Christian groups.

Due Process Board

Purpose: To protect by means of arbitration or conciliation the specific rights of persons, placing more emphasis on the dignity of the human persons than on the forced submission to judicial process.

Eastern Catholic Faithful

Purpose: Canonically established communities for Catholics of the Byzantine and Maronite Churches who are living in the Archdiocese of Louisville.

Legion of Mary

Purpose: To serve the church through prayer, ministry to the sick, visitation to shut-ins and other needs of the archdiocese.

Louisville Archdiocesan Mission Promoters (LAMP)

Purpose: A league of Catholic laity dedicated to extending Christ’s church in the archdiocese, under the guidance of the Archbishop.

Mass of the Air

Purpose: A time of prayer and celebration for the sick, elderly and shut-ins.

Opportunities for Life, Inc.

Purpose: Pastoral ministry of the laity, offering life-affirming hope and help to those experiencing untimely pregnancies. Hotline answered by trained volunteers 24 hours a day.

Pastoral Council of the Archdiocese of Louisville

Purpose: The Pastoral Council is a consultative body to the Archbishop that provides a forum for leadership, communication about pastoral matters, and linkage among parishes and between parishes and the archdiocese.

Peace and Justice Commission

Purpose: To serve as liaison and share information with existing local community agencies and advocacy groups; to provide focused responses to important local social justice issues; to act as consultative body for the Archbishop.

Priests' Council

Purpose: To represent and unite in justice and charity all the priests serving the archdiocese, to provide a forum for the full and free discussion of all matters pertaining to priestly interests, and to assist the archbishop by offering counsel in those matters pertaining to the pastoral work and welfare of the archdiocese and its people.

Priests' Parents Club

Purpose: To pray for an increase in the numbers of religious vocations and to provide spiritual and social activities for priests and priests’ parents.

Propagation of the Faith Holy Childhood Association

Purpose: To coordinate all mission activity, both foreign and home, for the archdiocese.

Religious, Council of

Purpose: The Council of Religious is a consultative body to the Archbishop that is convened twice a year to obtain the perspective of religious regarding specific matters.

Sacred Heart Center

Purpose: To promote devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by means of night adoration in the home, enthronement of the Sacred Heart in the home and the apostolate of the suffering.

Sexual Abuse Review Board

Purpose: To review allegations of sexual abuse by priests, deacons and other Church personnel and to monitor archdiocesan policies and procedures for dealing with allegations of abuse.

Vicar for Clergy Office

Purpose: To act as the Archbishop’s personal representative to the retired clergy of the archdiocese.

Women's Concerns Committee

Purpose: A committee of women and men appointed by the Archbishop to provide the archdiocese with a perspective on issues affecting women in the church and society.

Archdiocesan Marian Committee

Purpose: To promote devotion to Mary, the Mother of God, and to coordinate Marian devotions within the Archdiocese. Sponsors three special rosary devotions: first Sunday of May at Ursuline Campus; annual Rosary Celebration in Bardstown, Ky., held on Sunday after Labor Day; Living Rosary usually held in October. Holy Hour of Reparation in honor of the Immaculate Heart of Mary from 1-2 p.m. at Carmelite Monastery.

Archdiocese Of Louisville Vocation Office – Planting Seeds Committee

Purpose: To enhance and broaden the scope and outreach of vocation ministry by supporting the mission of the Vocation Office. Through its programs and services, PSC seeks to assist all people of the archdiocese in recognizing and responding to their Baptismal call. Educational programs are geared toward elementary, high school and religious education students, as well as teachers and catechists, with focus on vocations to priesthood and religious life.

Catholic Charismatic Renewal Pastoral Council

Center for Interfaith Relations

Purpose: The Center for Interfaith Relations (formerly the Cathedral Heritage Foundation) was established in 1985 by a group of civic leaders through a unique partnership with the Archdiocese of Louisville and the Cathedral of the Assumption. The mission of the nonprofit organization is to promote inter-religious understanding and the civic role of Louisville's historic Cathedral of the Assumption complex. CHF provides many inter-religious programs to the people of Greater Louisville, including its premier event, the Festival of Faiths, held each November. The foundation also hosts free lectures and concerts. CHF offers free tours of the historic Cathedral complex. (Schedule tours by calling (502) 583-3100.) In addition, the Foundation operates a First Experience for a Museum of Faiths designed to perpetuate the spirit of the Festival. Propagation Of The Faith/Holy Childhood Association

Purpose: To coordinate all mission activity, both foreign and home, for the archdiocese. Through the Propagation of the Faith, missionaries are assigned to speak at different parishes, and various collections are sent to the central office in New York. Through the Holy Childhood, grade-school students are given a greater awareness of the global mission of the church.
