On Tuesday, February 21, 28 students in grades 4-8, competed in the Archdiocese of Louisville’s Spelling Bee at the Flaget Center.
The winner was Ally Morcus, a 7th grader from St. Albert the Great. Ally will represent the Archdiocese in the Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee on March 10th at the PNC Club at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. If she is unable to attend, the second place finisher will represent us. The second place finisher was Lauryn Grady, a 6th grader from St. Francis of Assisi. The third place finisher was Hannah Choi from John Paul II Academy, and the fourth place finisher was Maggie Cahill from St. Agnes. Congratulations to all of the participants.
The archdiocesan district bee will be aired on March 12 (at 7:00 p.m.), 14 (at 6:00 p.m.), and 16 (at 5:30 p.m.) on The Faith Channel, cable channels 96.9, 279 digital, or cable box 19.
